Deer Management

The Group have maintained a very stable population of 1700-2000 red deer for a number of years now, with good count and cull information available. An annual count is taken on the open hill range and this along with cull statistics allows us to model deer numbers on the island.

Numbers in the south of the island are unknown, but there could be a similar number present there.

There are currently no other species of deer on the island.
